The following skills would be assets to our company:

• Demonstrated knowledge of, and experience with, building construction and/or building science
• Good computer skills,  an existing email address, and access to the internet
• Good communication (oral, written, internet and telephone) skills
• A valid driver’s license and record in good standing
• Willingness and motivation to work as an independent contractor and assist in the marketing of our services

Equipment Requirements

To become a certified Energy Wise Solutions Energy Advisor, you must have your own equipment, including:

• Your own vehicle
• Blower door equipment (we can assist)
• PC Computer (laptop or desktop)
• A digital camera
• High-speed internet connection
• Fold up ladder
• A variety of small hand tools

Certified Energy Advisors

Energy Wise Solutions' Certified Energy Advisors are officially licensed throughout BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Ontario by Natural Resources Canada’s ecoENERGY Retrofit-Homes Incentive program. This national NRCan program provides energy evaluations to help Canadians retro-fit their homes for improved energy efficiency, long-term savings, and reduced carbon footprint.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with Energy Wise Solutions staff for scheduling purposes
• Operate as an independent contractor to conduct residential energy efficiency assessments using the ecoENERGY retrofit program system
• Prepare custom ecoENERGY Retrofit Home Energy Plans for home owners
• Complete and submit, on a timely basis, all reports and electronic files required
• Respond promptly to all Energy Wise Solutions communications, client issues and inquiries
• Attend scheduled team meetings and training sessions as required
• Comply with the Natural Resources Canada Houses code of conduct
• Undertake regular upgrade training

Candidates must have sufficient prerequisite skills, attend approximately 6 days of structured field and class training, write an exam and complete a supervised training period.
